I got lucky!īack in the day of MVP,s we use to tell extremely dense users to RTFM. I then started manipulating various settings in Macrium. I then booted up into the Macrium recovery environment, crossing my fingers. I just turned off the Apple crap because I never have, and never will, use anything that they produce. I then went through the configuration settings in the M圜loud dashboard and set everything pretty much as the were originally. I have got to hand it to Western Digital. No errors were returned, which is amazing because this device has been powered up continuously for almost seven years (I do not use the sleep function as it adds about 30-45 seconds to initial access time). I assume that it checked the hard drive sector by sector for errors. I then ran the extended trouble shooting service on the drive (took over 9 hours). After backing up my precious movies to an USB drive (almost 3 TB) I performed a total reset on the NAS device. The unruly condition was caused by a combination of settings, both in the M圜loud dashboard and in Macrium. After experimenting for three days I have the situation sorted out.
